If you've been a wonderin' what's become of me
I guess there didn't very much that I can say
Well I've been thinkin' bout it lately too
A waitin' for the answer comin' any day

Been here and there about a year or so
Doesn't really seem to be that long to me
But when I think about my country home
Time and distance get to spinnin' crazily

I remember spring and how it was
Waitin' for the sun to melt the snow away
We'll start to put the crop in any day

I can still see Dad look down at me and say
Chores are done and I got time to go to town
So up into the truck and on our way
Lookin' over snowy fields to find a patch of ground

I remember summer and how it was
Sun and rain and the ripin' grain and makin' hay
Soon it's fall and harvestin' is under way

The town it wasn't much just street and stores
Seems you knew most everyone and they'd say hi
Grain elevators standin' tall and proud
Reflectin' our existence sharp against the sky

I remember winter and how it was
Silence and the storm that we've been waiting for
With fires a cracklin' and the snowflakes soar

Sunday mornings we'd all go to church
Mother says we haven't missed a week in seven years
Winter evenings I'd go courtin' some
The girl with golden hair and a few too many tears

I remember love and how it was
Sometimes it's better not to fall in love at all
So sad when love can bloom in spring and die in fall

If you've been a wonderin' what's become of me
I guess there it didn't very much that I can say
Well I've been thinkin' bout it lately too
A waitin' for the answer comin' any day
